Moto Monday // six

I cannot believe we have three back to back Moto Mondays. Like Amanda said in our last post, this summer is going by so fast - I cannot believe it!! But, let's get some inspiration for the week :)

1. to move // yoga for your mind // this is the perfect fix for any stressful times!

2. to eat // Mexican Pork Chorizo Burger (& Shrimp!) // this is intimidating but yum.

3. to do // Kiss in the rain // I am aware of how cheesy this sounds but it is currently raining outside and I have watched too many episodes of Sex and the City so please excuse me. It is nice to remember how much you love your special someone or watch out for those spontaneous moments!

4. to wear // Maxi Skirts // I am in love with this look. So comfy chic! The skirt is absolutely perfect for summer days and cool beachy nights.

5. to make // DIY Sharpie Mugs!! // these are always so fun and easy. Make a ton for friends or yourself! Find lots of inspiration HERE

Sometimes we need a reminder that we are in charge of our happiness. Never let anyone convince you otherwise and stay in charge of yourself :)!

MOTO MONDAY!

Hello Everyone!

WOW, Summer is just flying by! I can't believe we're almost done with June! I feel like I haven't had time to do much of anything, including blogging on here! I'm working really hard to manage my time properly and I will be posting more soon, I promise!

1. to move // 100 Calorie Workout // Some of you may not have time for a full workout. This is something that is quick and easy to do for anyone on the go!

2. to eat // Chicken Lettuce Wraps // I absolutely love chicken lettuce wraps and I'm so glad I found this recipe!

3. to do // Teen Wolf // The new season of Teen Wolf starts tonight! I am completely obsessed!

4. to wear // Jeans + Blazer // I saw this pic and I could not resist posting it on here. I know the main focus on here is the Kate Spade bag (and it's gorgeous!), but as an intern I've found that you can never have too many blazers! It's also perfect for a casual Friday!

5. to make // Chalkboard Mason Jar Candle Centerpiece // Who doesn't love a mason jar DIY? The tutorial can be found here!

Stop throwing yourself a pity party and love yourself! You will never be exactly like someone else, just like they will never exactly be you. You are spectacular and you don't need to think anything less!

P.S. As some of you may know, I have been working full time at a new internship and it's taken me a while to adjust to my new schedule. I came up with some new blog ideas and can't wait to post them! Also, please let us know if you have any internship/resume/interview questions, we'd be happy to answer!

Stuck in Traffic Playlist // Top 100 Edition

Hello everyone!

Last week I (Amanda) started my summer internship. Luckily, it's paid! Unluckily, it's 8:30 to 5:30 Monday through Friday! Some of you might say, 8:30 isn't bad at all...which is understandable. What you may not know is that Houston traffic is hell. Since I have to get to my job that is near downtown Houston by 8:30, that means I have to leave my house at least by 6:45 (at the latest) to avoid HORRIBLE Houston traffic. Since I have to leave by 6:45, that means I have to wake up between 5 and 5:30...blah blah blah, you get it.

Anywho, even when I leave as early as 6:30...there's still a bit of traffic! And the only thing that distracts me from the crazy drivers and the stop and go traffic is music! I love listening to a song and forgetting about all of the insane Houston drivers! I'm definitely that silly person who is dancing and singing in her car on her way to work. That's just my thing, I guess? HAHA!

So enough of this back story, I'm going to give you guys a top 5 playlist to jam out to in the car!

TOP 100 EDITION

1. "Classic" // MKTO

 2. "Problem" // Ariana Grande feat. Iggy Azalea

3. "Love Never Felt So Good" // Michael Jackson & Justin Timberlake

4. "Loyal" // Chris Brown

5. "Boom Clap" // Charli XCX

I have these songs on repeat in the morning! They put me in such a good mood because they're songs you can really get into (either by singing or dancing)! I think I'll try to make this a weekly thing because my obsession with a song lasts that long, or I'll be feelin' a different genre? Either way, there will be a new list sometime in the near future!

I'll probably do a top 10 next time, don't worry! In the meantime, I hope this mini top 100 playlist makes your morning commute a little better!

MOTO MONDAY!

Hello Everyone! I hope our Moto Monday posts are helping beat some summertime boredom! Hopefully y'all are all having a wonderful summer so far! It's going by fast, be sure to cherish every minute of it!

1. to move // Arms on Fire! // Remember to workout your arms (I always forget)!

2. to eat // Parmesan Crusted Tilapia // I absolutely love tilapia and have been looking for a good recipe, you can find it here!

3. to do // Orange is the New Black (Season 2) + The Fault in Our Stars // Two new releases this week, and I have to say, they're both absolutely great! If you decide to start OITNB be cautious, it's addictive! If you do see TFIOS, bring tissues!

4. to wear // White Boho Dress // What a perfect day dress! This is something you can easily slip on for any event!

5. to make // Pop Box // Don't forget, this Sunday is Father's Day! What better way to show your love than by making something? This DIY can be found here!

I think that sometimes our stress and frustration can get the best of us. We can often be hard on ourselves and I think we should all take a moment to realize that we are doing the best we can, and that should be good enough.

Have a wonderful week and don't forget to hug your dads on Father's Day (Sunday 6/15)

My Favorite Apps : Photo Editing

1. VSCOcam
This app is probably on everyone's list of favorite photo editing apps because it is just good. You need it. And yes, it is totally worth it to buy some of the extra filters. You also really need to play around with brightness, fade, shadows, tints, etc. Once you take advantage of the full set of features - you will love it too :) I edit most, if not all, of my photos with this app.

2. PicFrame + Split Pic
I grouped these two apps together because they are similar to me - they both combine photos and I hardly use them. As much as I enjoy these apps they just usually don't fit into my "style" but they are great. PicFrame is the best (in my opinion) for combining photos and Split Pic (far right picture) is great for outfit photos. I say this about Split Pic because I have seen other people use it that way and it is awesome. I have yet to take full advantage of that app but I plan on it now :)

3. Dubble
Dubble is a new app that I found and can be really cool. It mixes your photo with someone else's photo and sometimes you can get some really cool images but most of the time it is not that great. Nonetheless, I recommend it as something fun and potentially really awesome!

4. Afterlight
Afterlight is a great app for editing full photos and getting a little more detailed on contrast, saturation, etc. (the finer details). A lot of people recommend this app and, while I don't use it that much, I do like it. This is usually my first stop and then I edit my photo with other apps after.

5. Snapseed
Snapseed is similar to Afterlight because it is also great with fine tuning although it can be a little more complicated to use. I really love this app though because of the easy tilt-shift and center focus edits. I am not crazy about their preset filters but everything else in the app works great!

6. Over
Finally, we need an app for text. Over is the one I have been using lately and am really digging the fonts that they offer on their app. Another great app for fonts is Phonto but I just have not used it recently.  I do not really put texts on my photos that often so I really use these apps for clean and easy names and text over my photos.

And that is it! I do not use that many apps for my photos and I hope this can help you guys have a little more fun editing your pictures and coming up with new creative ways to use all of the apps at once or just one! Are there any apps that you think I am missing out on? I'd love to know! :)

Moto Mondays // THREE

It's the start of a new week and a new month (a month that is already going by way too fast!). How is your Monday? We hope it is wonderful and here to help is some inspiration for your week!

1. to move // Morning Yoga // Because stretching in the morning is the best thing you can do!

2. to eat // Brown Butter Lobster Rolls // If you aren't lucky enough to have access to the most delicious lobster rolls near New England you can make them with this simple, classic, and delicious recipe!

3. to do // Houston Arboretum // OR go outside - it's nice to be outside and snap some pics or relax. Go somewhere a little more rural. You would never believe a place like this exists inside the Houston loop.

4. to wear // skater skirt + crop top // stay cool and look effortlessly chic!

5. to make //Father's Day Gift // On June 15th we will celebrate our awesome dads and I know my dad always loves hand made goodies. If you choose to go DIY it is best to think about it now. Gift baskets and desserts are definitely my favorite things to make and can fit any dad :)
So many times we can find things that are wrong with our life but don't forget to notice all of the things that are right. Have a fabulous Monday and make this week a great one :)
